Interesting Concept

One thing that I found interesting from the reading is the different methods of delivery. I didn’t realize there were different methods; I thought there was just one method of speaking while giving a speech. There are four different methods impromptu, extemporaneous, manuscript, and memorized. Impromptu is speaking without preparation; I guess it’s like a debate you don’t know the topic you’re talking about until you get there. Extemporaneous is giving a speech that has been planned, researched organized and practice; so this is the method that we use when we giving our speech. Manuscript is when you give a speech that is written out word for word and the memorized methods which is self explanatory. This section interested me because I didn’t know giving a speech could be categorized.

  1. hello sheryl,

yea i thought the different methods of delivery was very interesting. ive always thought there was only one and that everyone just used it. haha but the four different metods impromptu, extemporaneous, manuscript and memorized i would have never thought about. my favorite method seems to be memorized because it seems the easiest. also seems like not a lot of work is put into this method therefore the easiest. i think i need to learn how to deliver with all 4 of the methods.
