My favorite speech
I think my favorite speech was my first speech, the informative speech, because I felt more confident giving it. I knew exactly what I was talking about, not like our other speeches where we had research and memorize new information just so we could keep eye contact with our audience. The only thing that I didn’t like about my first speech was that I was really nervous and my speech kind of ran a little to long, so I didn’t time it as well as I thought when I practiced it. I think I liked my first speech better because I was more passionate in giving it.

The first speech was pretty fun for me as well because it was something that I already had a little background with. I thought that it was my second favorite because the first speech was the one where I forgot to bring up my visual aid. I felt like that distracted my speech's overall delivery :(. Although I already had some knowledge of my topic, I still had to do lots of research. Despite doing extensive research, I forgot to include citations. I'm surprised that I got a good grade for the first speech because I made so many mistakes. I liked the persuasive speech because I find it kind of fun to convince people to do something. Good job on your speech Sheryl :).
ReplyDeletei completely agree that the first speech was probably the easiest, not only because it was an easy topic, but also because the time limit was not as long as the two after. i did find it a bit hard to stay within the limits though, since i had so much information to give, but overall it was an interesting topic to speak on and i learned a lot while researching. i too was nervous for my first speech, but as time went on i defnintely got more comfortable in front of the class. good job on your speech, it was good getting to know you this semester through the class meetings and through blogging. good luck in the future
ReplyDeletehey sheryl,
ReplyDeletei believe the first speech was the cultural artifact and not the informative :) honest mistake haha. anyways, yes i do agree that the "informative" speech was the best one. i felt like i knew what i was talking about and i could express more since the topic was about fraternity. although you were not in class to hear my speech, you would have probably thought i was very informational. the very first one was my least favorite because i did a bad job on it and pretty much read off my notecard since it was the first speech of the class. well good luck with everything and hope to see you around. btw, hawaii is WAMP
