Speech Buddy Videos

In the videos they say that telling a story is a good attention getter, I have never thought to use a story because it would just seem that the introduction would be way to long. Now I know that a story would be a good attention getter I want to try and use it for my next speech. From the videos about informative speeches the speakers just talked about their topic without choosing a side. I think that with my topic it is going to be kind of hard to not choose a side, but I am going to try and stay away from taking a side or trying to persuade my audience to my feelings toward the topic.

  1. Those are great things that you learned from the speech buddy videos. I also think that telling a story is a great attention getter. I look forward to hearing you use that technique in your next speech. Using story's I think is challenging but it can interest the audience greatly. Telling the right story in the beginning of the speech can make the audience want to hear more about your topic or it may raise questions that audience members want to know that you will then mention in your speech. The videos also mentioned techniques about having an effective conclusion and introduction. You would have a great introduction if you tied in a story with the techniques mentioned about having an effective introduction.
